Privacy Policy

Who we are

Sunup (“Sunup”, “we”, “us”) is building software for crew time, breaks and labor cost on California farms. This policy explains how we handle personal information on sunupag.com and in our waitlist. It does not cover the Sunup app itself; see Crew data in the app.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Waitlist form: your name, company or ranch, work email, phone or WhatsApp number (optional), your role, the approximate number of workers at peak season, your preferred language, and your permission to contact you.
• Messages: anything you send us by email or tell us on a call.
• Survey (optional): if you choose to take our field survey, it runs on Google Forms and your answers are also subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.

Information collected automatically

• Server logs: like every website, our hosting provider records technical data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. It is used to run and protect the site.
• Privacy-friendly analytics: we count visits with Umami, a cookieless tool. It tells us things like which pages were viewed, the referring site, the device type and the country. It does not use cookies or identify you personally.
• Spam protection: the form includes a hidden field and records how long the page was open, to stop bots. To limit repeated submissions we keep a one-way, scrambled version of your IP address for up to 10 minutes.

How we use it

• To reply to you, schedule a call and tell you about early access and founding operations.
• To send you a confirmation email and, if you want it, a link to our survey.
• To understand which kinds of operations are interested, so we build the right product.
• To keep the site secure and working.

We don’t use your information for advertising, and we don’t make automated decisions about you.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We only share it with:

• Service providers that run the site for us: our web hosting and email provider (Hostinger), our analytics provider (Umami) and, if you take the survey, Google Forms. They may only use it to provide their service to us.
• Professional advisers, such as lawyers or accountants, when needed.
• Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect rights and safety.
• A future owner, if Sunup is merged or acquired, under the same promises as this policy.

Cookies and Do Not Track

This site does not use cookies. We do not track visitors over time or across other websites, and we don’t let third parties do so through our site. Because of that, the site behaves the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. We also honor Global Privacy Control; since we never sell or share personal information, no further action is needed on your part.

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist information until the end of our early access program or 24 months after our last contact with you, whichever comes first, unless you become a customer or ask us to delete it sooner. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited time under its own retention rules.

Security

The site uses HTTPS, form records are stored outside the public website folder, and access is limited to the Sunup team. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we have about you, or to stop contacting you, at any time. Write to hello@sunupag.com; we answer within 30 days, usually much sooner. Every email we send has a way to reply and opt out.

If you live in California, the law may give you the right to know, delete and correct personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live, and we will not treat you differently for making one.

This site is meant for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Crew data in the app

When Sunup launches, information about crews and workers that our customers enter in the app will be handled under our customer agreements, not this website policy. By design, Sunup never collects Social Security or ITIN numbers, dates of birth or immigration status, home addresses, photos or biometrics, or the GPS location of workers.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If the change is significant, we will also tell people on the waitlist by email before it takes effect.
